CST.net Windows ME Setup
Help in setting up your dial-up connection
Before you begin these instructions we will assume that:
- Your modem is installed and configured properly
- You have an active account with Cyberstation
- Your modem is connected to your phone line
1. On your desktop double click on "My Computer"
2. Double click on "Control Panel"
3. Click on " Dial-Up Networking"
5. When the box pops up, click on "Next"
6. Enter "CST" (without the quotes) as the name of your connection. Verify that your modem is in the box below it and click on "Next"
7. Leave the "Area Code" field blank and type in your respective phone number for your location:
Wichita Falls: 397-1042
Vernon #1: 552-7000
Vernon #2: 357-2680
Decatur: 872-5928
Click "Next"
8. Click "Next"
9. Now you should still be in "Dial-Up Networking." Right Click on "CST" and select "Properties"
10. Verify that the correct phone number is in the labeled box, and that the checkbox for " Use area code and dialing properties" is unchecked. Click on "Networking."
11. Under the Networking tab make sure that "Enable Software Compression" and TCP/IP are the only boxes checked. Click on "TCP/IP Settings"
12. The first portion must say "Server assigned IP address" and the middle section must have "Specify Name Server Addresses" marked. Enter "205.167.0.5" without the quotes as the primary DNS and "205.167.0.1" again without the quotes in the secondary DNS field. Ensure that the two bottom boxes, "Use IP header compression" and "Use default gateway on remote network" are both selected. Click OK. Click on the "Security tab"
13. Enter your usermane and password in the boxes for them, but leave your "Domain" blank. Check the "Connect automatically box." The other boxes may remain unchecked. Click OK.
Now just double click on the CST icon in dial-up networking and you're on the Internet!
