CST.net Windows 2000 Setup


Help in setting up your dial-up connection

Before you begin these instructions we will assume that:

  • Your modem is installed and configured properly
  • You have an active account with Cyberstation
  • Your modem is connected to your phone line
  1. On your desktop, right click on "My Network Places" and select "Properties" from the drop down menu.
  2. Double click on "Make New Connection"


3. Click "Next"


4. Select "Dial-up to Private Network" and click next


5. In the "Phone Number" field enter your Cyberstation Dial-up number as follows:
Wichita Falls: 228-4004
Vernon #1: 552-7000
Vernon #2: 357-2680
Decatur: 872-5928
Click next.


6. Select "For all users" under connection availability and click next


7. Enter "Cyberstation" as the name of your connection, and check the box at the bottom of the window labeled "Add a shortcut to my desktop." Click Finish.


8. Enter your username and password in the fields, then check "Save Password". Click "Properties."


9. Click on the "Networking" tab. Verify that "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" is checked. Highlight it and select "Properties."


10. Check "Use the following DNS Server addresses" and enter 205.167.0.5 as the primary DNS server and 205.167.0.1 as the secondary DNS server. Click "OK". Click "OK" on the previous window.
